Wanted: English teachers in a bilingual Christian school in Monterrey, Mexico.
IUMA (Mexican-American Institute and University) is looking for English teachers in the lower elementary grades. We use a mixture of A Beka and Bob Jones curriculum to help teach English as a second language to our students in a traditional setting. Our classrooms have between 20 - 30 students each. Our school hours are from 7:45 - 1:45 Monday through Friday. If you would like to give a year or two to the Lord’s work, we would appreciate your consideration here in the industrial capital of Mexico - population around 7 million. We are only 2 hours from Laredo, Texas or 2 1/2 hours to McAllen, Texas.
If you have some experience with Spanish, it will make your stay more enjoyable, but it is not necessary. Come and learn Spanish as you are teaching the students English. Salary will be around $475.00 a month depending on how many classes are taught. We may be able to help with rent and food expenses, and we promise opportunities to be involved in an active, growing local church with many ministries. Genezaret Baptist Church has many community outreaches, and the school ranges from preschool all the way up to a Bible college that excels in choir and orchestra.
Our students have been enjoying American teachers for the last 6 years, and we would love to continue to offer English by native speakers. There is also the possibility of teaching in the middle school. Please contact :
Rebeca Navarro, English coordinator, rebeca_navarrov@hotmail.com
Cathy Henning, upper elementary English teacher, cathylhenning@cs.com
Erin Byram, teacher you would be replacing, artisterin@gmail.com
Prayerfully consider Monterrey.
