SEPTEMBER brings us to a time of change as we begin preparing for the fall and winter seasons. Teams are pretty much finished except for the holiday seasons, but we are still doing local church retreats. As a result of our connections with the local churches we were asked to assist in finding a location for a baptismal service and what a joy that was to watch so many step into the waters of baptism as they declared their faith in Jesus Christ and testify as to how He has impacted their lives. Although the baptisms weren't held here at Melody Lane, we are having our hearts tugged at the prospect of having a way in which churches can have baptism services here. We are seeking a plan for either building a baptismal or having a portable pool of sorts to facilitate this life-changing event in peoples' lives.
Melody Lane has changed in it's appearance over the years, but our focus is unchanged in that we desire to facilitate ministry and to see lives impacted for Jesus Christ for all eternity! It's difficult to put into words the joy it brings to be able to serve this Ministry as you never know what God is going to do next. He proves Himself faithful over and over and over again.
Our outside projects have been correcting some drainage problems by digging out dirt along the edge of the gravel pads and putting in more gravel so the dirt won't wash into the roadway and have to be cleaned up after it rains. It's a slow process, but it works.
Inside we've worked on reorganizing our lending library that is inside the clubhouse. We've given away a lot of books that were no longer needed and are now trying to build a library of Christian fiction and biographical. We have had a number of books donated from some missionaries and they are a very welcome addition. If you would like to donate any of this type of book please contact us as we have a list of what is in our library. We are missing a lot of books that are part of a series and it would be nice to complete them.
